Mission Statement
Glantane N.S. is a rural, co-educational, Catholic primary school which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of all the pupils are identified and addressed
While Glantane N.S. is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions.
Glantane N.S. will strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes.
Glantane N.S. will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contact and through their involvement in the Glantane N.S. Parents Association.
Glantane N.S. will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to instill in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being responsible.
Glantane N.S. will promote gender equity amongst the teachers and pupils.

Vision Statement
We, the school community of Glantane National School, Board of Management, Parents, Staff and the community in general, will strive to do everything in our power to help the children to :-
Develop a positive awareness of self and sensitivity to others and a respect for the rights, views and feelings of other people.
Develop self-discipline and acceptable behaviour.
Develop the capacity to make moral judgements.
Develop spiritually.
Extend their knowledge and understanding of Catholic traditions and beliefs and a respect for the religious traditions and beliefs of others.and those with none
Communicate clearly and confidently.
Listen attentively and with understanding.
Speak clearly, confidently and effectively.
Read fluently, with understanding and for the love of reading.
Write fluently and legibly with accurate spelling, syntax and punctuation.
Locate, extract, record and interpret information from various sources.
Develop a competence in Irish.and a grá for our native language
Understand computational skills and apply them accurately and speedily. Understand and apply mathematical concepts.
Develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understand and apply basic scientific ideas.
Extend their knowledge of and interest in historical, geographical, social and natural aspects of their environment and cultural heritage.
Acquire a knowledge of and an interest in the history and geography of times and places removed from their own area.
Develop the skills and knowledge to express themselves through various aesthetic activities including drama, language, movement, music, dancing and the visual arts

Help the child to reach their full potential academically and holistically.
In pursuing these objectives we recognise that all areas of human development (intellectual, physical, spiritual, social, emotional etc) are all inextricably linked.
